About the Practice
Dr. Caren Baruch-Feldman, a licensed clinical psychologist, maintains a private practice in Scarsdale. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of clinical and consultative services to both children and adults. She uses cognitive behavioral and evidenced-based approaches to help children and adults lead more productive and fulfilling lives.
She specializes in helping her clients deal with anxiety and stress and is also an expert in conducting psycho-educational evaluations to assist families whose children are experiencing school-related difficulties. In addition, she uses psychological principles to assist camps in training their counselors.
Dr. Baruch-Feldman emphasizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in her practice. She trained at the Albert Ellis Institute in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The CBT model has been applied with success in the treatment of a wide range of disorders and problems, including depression, anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, specific phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder, anger, impulsive behaviors, Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavioral problems, social skills deficits, and family/relational problems. Significantly, this therapy approach has demonstrated success both alone, and in combination with medication. Furthermore, research has demonstrated the maintenance of treatment gains over time.
Dr. Baruch-Feldman frequently presents workshops at schools and camps. Workshops are hands-on and interactive. Participants walk away with strategies that they can incorporate into their lives. See the resource section for a list of possible workshops.
